What do you get when a mike mangler named Pitbull humps the Miami Sound Machine? A barking, buzzing remix of “Wepa.”
Of course, Pit’s take on the Pharell Williams– and Emilio Estefan-produced track — actually remixed by DJ R3hab — doesn’t quite reach the same shockingly awesome levels of hypnotic WTF-ness. But it definitely satisfies our deep need for sweaty Miami music.
And Gloria seems to agree. Introducing the song for the Ryan Seacrest and “all [his] viewers at RyanSeacrest.com,” Miss Little Havana chimes: “Here is such a hot mix … It’s Pitbull! I love him!”

For his part, Pit’s pretty excited about getting with Gloria. A blog on his official planetpit.com site even enthuses: “It was only destiny that Miami’s Pitbull finally joined forces with the original Mrs. 305, Latin music legend Gloria Estefan.”
On the track, Pitbull puts his feelings into poetry: “When I see her/On the dancefloor/In the nightlife/She makes me say, “Wepa” … Gloria! Mr. Worldwide, senseless/Go ahead, add another one to the hit list/Latinos takin’ over the world/Check the census/Miami’s finest, Cuban princess/And we coming hard like the world against us.”
Meanwhile, the Queen of Latin Pop talk-raps about looking for late-night fun: “Start the party is what I came to do/I don’t care with who/So how ’bout you?/Give up your worries/And I’ll dance a move/Till the sun comes through/With the mornin’ view.”
Whoa. Can you say, “Wepa”?
