This Thanksgiving, instead of mapping out a top-secret Black Friday shopping plan, spend your morning running a 5K or 10K race and doing some good in the world (and then go shopping later). Hey, it’s a great way to get your metabolism started before sitting down for a feast later that day — burn off some calories to make room for new ones. Baptist Health South Florida’s Turkey Trot, presented by Publix, benefits Camillus House, and even if you’re not participating in the race, you can still help by donating canned goods at the event. Baptist Health and Publix will give your donations to families in need. The Turkey Trot is a family-friendly event, so there will even be short-distance races for children. Parents can run or walk, and the kids can trot.
