Look! Up in the sky — there’s a giant, jelly-like blob heading toward you! Run! No, wait, it’s just a movie projection in the middle of Wynwood. That blob you see is just the 1958 movie The Blob, which is a part of Halloween Nights at the Blue Starlite Drive-In (70 NW 29th St., Miami).
This Wednesday night’s double feature will be a treat full of alien invasions. First to screen will be 1982’s The Thing, about a group of scientists out in an icy and isolated tundra where an alien life form has the power of possession (and the ability to mutate dogs). Then, with the vintage flick The Blob, watch a town get overtaken by an amorphous creature that grows as it destroys everything in its path.
