“I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride it where I like.” Queen’s classic bike song could be the de facto anthem for Miami’s growing community of cyclists. You might have seen this motley, two-wheeling crew zoom past your Hummer as you were stuck in construction gridlock on Biscayne Boulevard. And not only are these kids avoiding traffic snafus, but also they’re experiencing the high of cruising through the sunny streets of Miami.
In fact, the only thing that can improve an afternoon bike ride in the 305 is a bellyful of beer. That’s why the Beer Snob Bicycle Pub Crawl is the best way to spend this Saturday. The ride begins at 4 p.m. at Zeke’s, where all the fancy beers and even the crappy ones are only $4 cash. It continues on to the Abbey (1115 16th St., Miami Beach), the DRB (255 NE 14th St., Miami), and Elwoods Gastro Pub (188 NE Third Ave., Miami), and ends at the Filling Station (95 SE Second St., Miami). It’s free to ride, but bring money for brew.
