First the Grinch stole Christmas with his spindly, lettuce-hued fingers, and then our landlord ruled that denominational holiday decorations be kept far away from all balconies, windows, and common areas. But Coconut Grove artist Glenn Terry is bringing the yuletide back with a viewing of his locally shot Christmas Film Special. The love scenes are scented with mistletoe, and the bad guys wield pine cones and handfuls of tinsel… er, maybe not, but you will get all eggnogstalgic watching Terry and his pal comb the Grove for that mythical creature called “the holiday spirit.”
The screening begins at 7:30 p.m., and its 30-minute run time guarantees you’ll be in and out before you can say, “I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus.” It’s free, of course, and goes down at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables.
Mon., Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m., 2009
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,800 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
