Where does our affinity for mustaches begin and end? The answer rhymes with infinity, for what male mug is not instantly improved by a paint-brush of testosterone? And what if that mug, by growing and maintaining that hair-bonzai, is also raising money to fight testicular cancer? Then you have an obligation to get drunk with this man to further his noble cause.
And you shall have your chance this Monday night when the good Sirs over at Moustaches Over Miami host the culminating event in the month-long mustache-growing, money-raising manfest that is Movember. Think of Movember as a Walk-a-thon without the walking, plus mustache-growing. Participants pledge to make a follicle Picasso out of their upper lip and in return, good friends donate money that goes to testicular cancer research. Everyone wins.
The Movember Party tonight is a 2-for-1 happy hour at Purdy Lounge to put a fedora on the 2009 efforts. Pay a buck at the door to help the cause, then buy that man with a mustache a White Russian. The beer flows like wine until 8 p.m.
