If you and your honey ever spent an evening whispering sweet nothings over a brace of stone crab claws while taking in the Miami skyline across a shimmering Biscayne Bay from your table at the Rusty Pelican, the final chance to see the old girl as you remember her (the restaurant, that is) will be coming up on July 4. That’s when the iconic Key Biscayne eatery throws its last big bash before closing until November for a total (and much-needed) facelift. Chow down on a special holiday barbecue buffet, featuring ribs, chicken, fish, sushi, oysters and more, not to mention all the wine, champagne and draft beer you can swill. Or grab a table in the main dining room, lounge or waterfront patio and revisit those crab claws and sweet nothings. Your old girl might still be the same but this old girl won’t.
