The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $10,000 by August 9.
Who’s Jeff Garlin? Maybe you recognize him as Gut Gut the cannonball specialist from 1983’s hilariously underappreciated Spring Break, a movie about nerds and studs coming together in Fort Lauderdale to organize wet T-shirt contests. What? Doesn’t ring a bell? Perhaps you know him better as Larry David’s chubby buddy from Curb Your Enthusiasm. That’s right, he of the foulmouthed wife and bratty daughter.
In any case, Gut Gut has written a book. He calls it My Footprint and it’s being described as a guide to “living green for fat people.” For only $25, you can buy yourself 256 pages that detail one man’s crusade to cut his weight and his carbon footprint. Get your copy of Garlin’s inspirational joke book and meet the author at Books & Books (265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables) this Monday.
