Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer know all about saxy time, and they’re gonna show Miami all their moves in a massive public display this Friday. Get your head out of the gutter and into the Adrienne Arsht Center (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) for Super Sax, because you won’t want to miss this funkalicious display of excellence on the saxophone.
In honor of five years of Jazz Roots, a performance series that celebrates the popular musical style, the Arsht will host Parker and Dulfer in a spotlight on the sax. Parker is heralded as one of the early pioneers of the modern funk and hip-hop genres, bridging the genres of jazz and funk in a style all his own. As for the globetrotting Dulfer, she has enjoyed massive success since the release of her debut album, Saxuality, and has been on tour extensively with Prince.
