The Monterey Club is a rockabilly venue loved by music junkies, and now it’ll score with fashionistas when it hosts its second Pin-Up Fashion Show. The bar is decked out with cushy couches and animal-print rugs, and hot rods are lined up out front. But this Friday, the Monterey will also be full of rockabilly/retro-themed fashion with free champagne (just for the ladies). A runway show will showcase the wares of a handful of local boutiques that specialize in vintage and pin-up rockabilly. Expect street wear to cocktail dresses, a dozen Bettie Page-esque models, and a whole lot of men lurking and leering.
Look for threads from Kreepy Kouture, vintage lingerie shop La Boudoir Miami, Chiquita’s Boutique, and others. Bands Gold Dust Lounge and the Recently Deceased will perform after the show. The event is sponsored by Kreepy Kittens, a pin-up gang aimed at furthering the pin-up lifestyle.
