At the risk of sounding like major-league homers, we’re not sure how the last So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD, the longest acronym in television history) ended up without any South Floridians in the finals. Remember androgynous Billy Bell and chongo b-boy Jose Ruiz? They represented SoFla with flamboyance fitting SoBe. But they went out before the finals and didn’t get the boob-tube time they deserved. No worries: You can still catch them — this time in the flesh — at the SYTYCD Dance Tour’s Miami stop.
The best of the seventh-season cast, including our local heroes and winner Lauren Froderman, as well as all-stars from the show’s first six seasons will waltz into the American Airlines Arena as part of the 40-city tour. The Miami date marks the seventh stop, meaning the dancers’ legs won’t have totally jellied by the time they take the stage this Wednesday.
