Popular wisdom dictates you avoid entering government buildings. Why? Because inside those official chambers is a slow, viscous bureaucracy that favors inaction and inefficiency — a waist-deep pool of metaphorical molasses.
But former U.S. senator and veteran Florida politician Bob Graham hopes to dispel such a bleak view of public service. Since retiring from office, Graham has worked tirelessly to attract a new generation of public leadership. As part of this effort, he recently published America: The Owner’s Manual, a how-to, hands-on primer for navigating government. Designed with the student in mind, the book draws on Graham’s years of experience to guide you through the muck. This Friday night at 7, Senator Graham will give a talk and sign copies of his new book at the Wolfsonian. RSVP is required to attend.
