Language’s latest, Real Music for Real People, proffers a brilliant patchwork of hip-hop legends such as Nas and Pete Rock & CL Smooth alongside young’uns such as soul singer Natalie Gardiner and sleaze-funk proprietor Black Spade. Language finds the common ground between the various sonic textures. And though Real Music is all over the place, it makes sense in the end. r
