Brazilian Girls make rhythmic, danceable melodies infused with creative, truthful, and sometimes very personal lyrics, but more important, the trio knows how to put on a beautiful, almost hypnotic live performance. Sabina Sciubba boasts the vocal mastery and stage presence of songstress legends like Debbie Harry and the cool calm of jazz singers like Astrud Gilberto. Sciubba also lends to the Brazilian Girls’ music the sound of five different languages. “It feels really unnatural to sing only in one language, let alone only in English,” she said in an NPR interview. Brazilian Girls will be in good company at the Langerado Music Festival, among the likes of the Flaming Lips, Wilco, RJD2, Kid Koala, and many others.
