On New Year’s Eve, Churchill’s sound man Roach stepped from behind the sound booth and onto the stage as part of Sound 4 Sound. Roach proved his ability to drum at breakneck speed, and his band left ears ringing with a set described by one fan as “mosh-o-rific.”
Sound 4 Sound is made up of the fragments of old local hardcore acts like Timescape Zero and Beyond Reason, and its lead singer, Adel Souto, used to publish the fanzine Feast of Hate and Fear. The band may be appreciated best by the discerning hardcore listener that remembers the heyday of the Cameo Theater with the ambulance out in front, and not the whiny mall-core featured on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball.
