  yup there are plenty of examples where the biggest homphobes turn out to have been doing all their anti-gay rhetoric to make sure no-one would find out they were gay themselves, a practice usually formed at high school where they were surrounded by anti-gay bullying and violence. Understandable in such a context, but no less sickening. Another example is Roy Ashburn, anti-gay senator who recently came out.

  I know that he is gay and lying, but since he is desperate, here is what I would have said it I was him: He wanted a "boy" to "rent" in order to carry the laggage. He didn't know any sites, so he just tried to guess by putting these two words together, and came up with "rentboy.com". He tried it, WOW it worked: there is in fact that site! After being tired of making up other sites and finding out at they didn't exist, he went for it. Now, in the terms of services they say what it is, and you have to click "agree" button. But we all know that terms of services are long and none of us have patience to read them; we just scroll down and click it (well thats what I always do anyway), so he probably did the same. Then he came across all these graphic images. But he decided that these are simply a spam. A lot of sites get spammed, so he decided this site got spammed too. Then when he clicked a particular "boy" he wants to rent, he found out that he is without a shirt. Well, he decided that he was just showing his muscles in order to tell you how much he can carry (after all, his assumption was that rentboy is for renting boys to carry stuff). So he hired him. Now if the above excuse doesn't work, here is another one: it is a good way of keeping a prostitute from sinning by paying him/her for NOT having sex. After all he/she is looking for MONEY, not sex; sex is just a way of earninng that money. So if you give him/her the same amount of money and NOT have sex with him/her, that would save him/her from having to sin these few days. And then we can always try a combination of the above: first he thought that rent boy is just for carrying luggage; but later when he realized it is about prostitutes he decided "wow, lord probably lead me to help out a prostitude to stay away from sin, lets do that" Finally, as far as letting the rent boy to touch him, may be he was doing the "touch therapy" (see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJXWFZz0Qjo&feature=related ). Yes they touched sexual organs. But he only did that as a means of "transition", just like a smoker has to have a "transition period". So, as they both admit, they did not have sex. But he figured that may be they should do some toucvhing so that the rent boy will not be looking forward for sex with new clients, since he would think he enjoys the touch; but meanwhile the touching will slowly decrease. Of course, no straight man will ever enjoy another men touching him. But he didn't enjoy it either. He simply forced himself to suffer in his desperate attempts to save the other men; as Jesus said "bear your cross daily". And finally, he didn't tell him that htis was his motivation because he was afraid that the rentboy, having no intentions to be cured, would not agree with the "treatment". And, even after the "treatment" was done, he still didn't want to tell this because he didn't want to hurt his feelings. But finally he decided to come out and tell the REAL truth: he never enjoyed the touch and only endured it for the purposes of the treatment of that young man.

  I guess the only thing that would be "hard" evidence would be to videotape him having sex with a male prostitute. And even then since he's so much on the inside (no pun intended) with the Right Wing (nut) fringe I'm sure he'd be forgiven for such a lapse in "judgment". These people are very scary.

  In over 40 years as a therapist, with almost no exception, men who are so rabidly anti-gay, are very afraid of their own feelings of homosexualtiy. And often have had same sex expriences. I did not complete a research project to discover this. Just day to day work with very disturbed people.

  The revelation of Rekers' phoniness would be funny if his activism hadn't hurt gays in America. On a related note, I've heard Rekers' partner James Dobson denouncing pornography. He said he's served on a presidential commission studying pornography. I remember wondering as I was listening to him if he wasn't railing against the very thing he craved.

  In one way I am glad Wreckers has been exposed as an out-and-out fraud, and in another I am disgusted that such a lying reptile could be gay, as it brings discredit upon me and other gay people. Even if he had to stay in the closet for legitimate reasons, and they're getting fewer by the hour, there was never any justification for the retaliatory wrecking of the lives of others who never did one bad thing to him.

  I'm a 73 year old gay man; came out when I was 24. It has been my experience that men who oppose or are hostile to their gay brothers are hiding their own identity. Straight men I know agree with me on this premise. A straight man is usually very secure in his sexual identity, although some do stray over the line once in a while. We know them as "trade".   I think the saddest part of this whole article is the amount of people who wrap up their whole lives and who they are and personality and what they will accomplish in their short amount of time on this earth, all this is summed up in the way they have sex. I think thats pretty sad, I think you are missing the true joy of living. People who are truly content with themselves don't go looking for targets of people who may not agree with their way of thinking. I don't think it adds another minute to your life.   The remarkable thing is that Rekers hired this guy straight from a prostitution ring - sort of like Spitzer. He didn't find this guy as a kindred spirit in a (gay) bar or a campus campus or anything like that; he knew this guy was a pro from the first moment. And by the same token, this Lucien was on the meter every second, day and night, in addition to tickets, food, etc. for this trip. How much money did Rekers spend on Lucien and Rentboys.com? Rekers has gotten paid thousands of dollars (much of in taxpayer money) for his expertise to advocate the "prevention and cure" of gayness; is anybody gonna demand a refund?

So maybe you should appreciate that the majority of Christians disapprove of homosexuality, but at least they don't have religious courts putting gays to death for kissing in public or having a gay pride parade. Next time you thing Christians are so bad, go try to have a gay pride parade in Islamabad. Heck, even try that in Beijing and see how LUCKY you are that you country is still (for now) Christians.

THREE: Six year old boys with bad horoscopes have, for centuries, been coerced to into becoming Buddhist monks; they become the catamites of older monks but fortunately "buggering" was not practised - only the lad's thighs were used. That's Buddhism in practice here; this is not a criticism of the noble dharma of Gautama who expounded Buddhist philosophy. Conclusion: ALL organised religions become a mockery of what their founders hoped they would inspire.

  Homosexuality is, in fact, a genetic defect and, as we gain scientific knowledge and control over the human genetic code, we will develop the capability of choosing whether a particular baby will carry this genetic flaw. It will then be interesting to note how many children will sue their parents for allowing them to be born homosexual versus the number suing their parents for not allowing them to be born homosexual. I submit there will be more of the former than the latter.

There is nothing "good" or "saintly" about claiming to be a non-Christian. As far so called "hypocrites" in Christianity, it is because Christianity naturally attracts people with huge problems and pains inside of them and thats what Christianity is meant to be for, to help people fix their problems and lots of people do get help and fix their problems. Often there are huge problems and the person fights it most of his life but might still give up or give in. Christianity is not perfect and cannot be perfect because it has lots of imperfect people with various and often huge, problems. As far as being "gay", there is nothing happy about it, there are many causes for it, that's why many people still hide it, fight it, try to fix it, do drugs to kill the pain etc. There is nothing good or happy or normal about having out of control urges of any kind. Homosexuality is just one of many such urges. Should we declare all other urges as normal? Such as bestiality, necrophilia, pedophilia, sadism, masochism and many many more. Dare to be open minded about it? There are many more skeletons in people's closets. Homosexuality is not the only "sin" in town. To make a parallel between the two sides, take the drug addict case - one side tries to help by fighting the problem, trying to get the person of the drugs, get him sober etc. The other side, seeing how difficult it is to help the person get off drugs, instead declares the drug addiction as "normal" and the person as being "predisposed" to drugs and "born" with addiction and starts giving the drugs and needles to the addict. Which one is much easier do you think? You give drugs to the addict, you declare his addiction to be normal and you become his best friend. Meanwhile you haven't fixed anything but claimed the credit for doing just that. That's where the true hypocrisy is.

  sad that sometimes people find themselves so constrained by their public position that they cannot be who they are. or that perhaps they dislike so much who they are that they are compelled to take up a public image diametrically opposed to it. this could be called hypocrisy. I'd prefer to think they just find themselves boxed in more and more tightly, until they finally get caught. I suspect those who do get caught feel a measure of relief, no matter how much they fight it or deny it. I wonder about men who really fight homosexuality (never have been able to figure out why heterosexual men should feel threatened: theoretically, it decreases competition for women. again, feel sad for this guy. wish him well, hope he can admit to himself what his true nature is, and be comfortable with it.

  Why is anyone surprised that one more vehement homophobe is most likely homosexual himself? Why else would he spend so much of his time thinking about it and talking about it and preaching about it and studying it? If you ever listen to those folks, they know more about the practices and mechanics of gay male sexual practices than some openly gay men do. Years ago, there was a saying in the gay community that if one day every gay person in the world woke up with purple skin, there would be a lot of purple people in some surprising places. I think it's becoming pretty clear that a lot of them would be in right-wing, so-called "Christian" organizations. Actually, by now it shouldn't be that much of a surprise any more.   Homosexuality is a psychological ambiguity, something that medically would be referred to as an illness or a syndrome. It appears to have existed for the duration of our recorded history, which means that it would have been a social issue back during the days when the Bible was being compiled. However, people easily learn to work with it and are able to live happy and complete lives in the gay community. We should be as supportive as possible, particularly as it doesn't cause harm to anyone. It doesn't bring the institution of marriage into disrepute, as many gay people are emphatic fans of marriage. Children may witness gay couples or even be brought up by gay parents, yet it doesn't cause them to develop a preference for homosexual relationships over heterosexual ones. Personally I think it's an issue that should be left to rest. The only thing I would suggest is that the political nature of homosexuality be eliminated so that impartial scientific research can continue into the condition without the threat of civil action against medical researchers.

A great story pertains to a boy at a catholic school in Oshawa, Ontario who wanted to take his boyfriend to his school prom. The evil catholic school forbid this. A father of one of the boys is an employee with General Motors Canada and the courageous union leader Buzz Hargrove stood up for the boys’ rights. The boy took his case through the courts and because the evil catholic school was benefiting from government funding which demands equal rights void of discrimination; the judge ordered the school to allow the two young boys to attend together. Their limo arrived at their prom with adoring onlookers. Tell them to take that cross and shove it where the sun don't shine and pay their taxes along the way before they take that cross down forever with its final station; extinction.   Rekers is involved in NARTH, is connected to Dobson (who is most famously associated with Focus on the Family). He also has a connection to Exodus International. Exodus International also published and sold a booklet by Rekers called "Prevention of Homosexuality" that is excerpted from Rekers' book titled _Growing up Straight_ (published by the Moody Bible Institute). This man has sought to seriously harm the legal rights of gay people. IN addition to Florida, Rekers testified in court against gay adoption in South Carolina two years ago, and this is what the judge said about his testimony (the citation for that is below): "Dr. Rekers’ testimony was far from a neutral and unbiased recitation of the relevant scientific evidence. Dr. Rekers’ beliefs are motivated by his strong ideological and theological convictions that are not consistent with the science.
