If you’re sick of the usual Thursday happy-hour hoopla (that is, bad service at a bar packed with belligerent jocks and inebriated suburban princesses who wouldn’t know a Klimt from a Kandinsky), opt for a little culture with your cocktail at the monthly LoweDown Happy Hour at UM’s Lowe Art Museum. Tonight, for a measly five bucks, alcoholic art aficionados can enjoy Asian night.

Munch on dim sum, take in some tunes, drink to your liver’s content, and check out the latest exhibit, “Clay and Brush: The Ceramic Art of China.” Experience a guided tour with museum director Brian Dursum to see amazing stoneware and pottery dating as far back as the 15th Century, or wander the halls solo and see the rest of the exhibits. Come crush a cup of wine and mingle among some of Miami’s finest artworks from 7:00 to 9:30.
Thu., Aug. 2, 7-9:30 p.m.
