Downtown Miami residents will have a place to purchase sustainable seafood, local produce, and organic foods when Whole Foods Market opens January 14.
The market is part of the Texas-based grocer that has been named one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” every year since the list began in 1998.

The 41,000 square foot store, located at 299 SE Third Street, will be the company’s 22nd location in Florida, and is part of a South Florida expansion of the chain. Three additional locations in Broward and Palm Beach counties are expected to open in the first quarter of 2015.

Juan Nunez, president of Whole Foods’ Florida region is looking forward to the company’s expansion in South Florida, saying, “with these four new stores, we’ll be able to offer our customers more local, natural and organic food options, introduce new and exciting products, and give back to the local communities that have embraced us.”
The art-deco inspired Downtown Miami location is designed to reflect the community it’s located in, with a special emphasis on local vendors and flavors.
Further details on opening events will be announced in January.
