Pulling out of the Sony Ericsson Open this week further delayed Maria Sharapova’s return to tournament glory, but it hasn’t slowed down her celebrity status. Sharapova still made the trip to Miami, but is instead partying and playing fashionista. She made a promotional appearance at the Cole Haan store at the Village of Merrick Park and then made an appearance at LIV for the tournament’s kick-off party (X17 reports Eliza Dushku was there too, getting close to Vanessa Williams’s ex and former NBA star Rick Fox — yay, celeb gossip!).

Meanwhile, fellow former WTA #1 Kim Clijsters announced her return to the game after a nearly two-year retirement. No, she isn’t a last-minute entrant on Key Biscayne. Instead she’ll make her return at the U.S. Open Series, but if all goes well, she might be here next year.

Meanwhile, somewhere Anna Kournikova was busy shaving Enrique Iglesias’s back (OK, OK, she was opening the New York Stock Exchange).
