The south tip of the USA has always been possessed: South Florida greed, South Florida debauchery, the mayhem. The Sunshine State can be dark, horrific, and haunting — and so will be the War Memorial on Friday and Saturday. The Village of Horrors has gotten inspiration from many dreadful places such as the 13th floor of the Grandeur Palms Hotel and Great Hall, a refuge of criminals that came to be known as the “Speakeasy From Hell,” as well as uneasy tales such as when a traveling circus came to town and hanged a 740-pound tiger. The village will feature two haunted houses, three panic zones, wild freak sideshows, and a crafts and peddlers row.
Abandoned souls lurk around each corner from 7 p.m. to midnight at the War Memorial Auditorium.
