Engadget leaked pictures of an alleged PlayStation phone late last evening that has generated more buzz than a PS3 controller vibrates.
According to their website, the Sony Ericsson phone will likely run on the Android 3.0 operating system, features a screen anywhere between 3.7 and 4.1 inches, and support microSD cards in lieu of the PlayStation standard, the Memory Stick. It appears the phone is a slider, a lot like the Xperia X1 but sans keyboard. We figure, if the phone is real, that games will be available for download on the PlayStation Store, Sony’s online network.
Sony has yet to officially announce the PlayStation phone, which is why NowGamer, a popular gaming website, told UK’s Guardian that the phone is a fake. Back stateside, however, CNET hints at a holiday release.

think a PlayStation phone is a little ridiculous. Text messaging while
driving has become a hot topic debate, but a phone that’ll likely
support God of War is just dangerous.
Nevertheless,
our guess is that the phone will have a Black Friday release date; one
person will be trampled to death at a Best Buy somewhere in the Midwest,
and several others will be hurt as they fight over the first shipment
of gamer phones. In Miami, 10 people will buy 50 phones and sell them at
a ridiculously high mark-up via Craigslist. Happy holidays, y’all.
