Ever since you murdered your mom’s six-foot-tall rubber ficus, we’ve been thinking that your two thumbs might be some shade of brown. And your constant desire to douse everything green and leafy in salad dressing just kind of proves our theory right. Lucky for you, Miami is home to one of the most beautiful public gardens in the world, so you can leave the fertilizing, germinating, and pruning to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.
With a two-acre rain forest, a tropical fruit pavilion, and endless rotating exhibits, Fairchild is the place that will inspire you to turn those brown thumbs to a more verdant shade. And if the promise of changing your life isn’t enough, Sundays are free for all visitors during the month of August. The park is open every day from 9:30 to 4:30.
Sundays, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Starts: Aug. 19. Continues through Aug. 26
