Anytime a hotel opens in South Beach, it means there’s a new restaurant to fulfill your face-stuffing needs, a slew of new rooms to get wasted in, and a brand-new hot spot begging you to dance in it. The splashy arrival of the W Hotel was no different. Our little sandbar to the east got Mr. Chow, stunningly appointed rooms, and WET. Though you might not be able to snag a reservation at Chow or an invite to the penthouse, each Thursday at WET, the W’s poolside lounge, you’re welcome to sip, dance, and be merry with SoBe’s nightlife glitterati.
It won’t matter that another hotel’s grand opening will knock the new-car smell off the W in 2.2 seconds. This party starts at 10 p.m. and will stay wet for as long as you can handle. Admission is $20 unless you know somebody who knows somebody.
