$7,500

Being a grownup royally sucks in a lot of ways, but it does offer a few perks: booze, no bedtime, dessert before dinner. And sometimes don’t we all wanna skip the salad and steak and let our inner 5-year-old go to town on candy and cookies instead?
Such is the thinking behind Sweet Tooth Soiree, an evening event at the Village at Gulfstream Park (501 S. Federal Hwy., Hallandale Beach) devoted to sweet stuff and classy cocktails. Attendees can nibble their way through a cornucopia of candy from the likes of Sugarman Candy, Unique Designer’s Cake, Cookies by Charles, Kilwins, Cotton Candy Factory, Misha’s Cupcakes, Fantasy Popcorn, and 40-some other purveyors of sweetness. Think chocolate fountains, an old-fashioned candy bar, pies on sticks, and every other sweet treat under the sun.
Plus, for those looking to get a little education out of the experience, there’ll be live crepe-making, cake-decorating, and truffle-making demos. So a few extra pounds won’t be the only thing you gain.
Tunes will be pumped out by DJ Supersede, and you’ll get to cast a chocolate coin for your favorite sweet on-site. It’s a serious sugar rush waiting to happen.

Fri., April 12, 5 p.m., 2013
