A’mod Ned, the injured FIU football player who was photographed walking onto the field on crutches to try to join the notorious brawl between UM and FIU players a couple weeks ago, is becoming the stuff of legend. The bloggers at Deadspin began Photoshopping the be-crutched Ned into legendary battles, including the D-Day invasion (right).
“History may little note nor long remember the fight between Florida International and the University of Miami,” says the post. “But we shall never forget the valiant sacrifices of Ned, who threw himself into the fray despite being hobbled by serious injury.”
The comments have just as much fun with the would-be scrapper. “Now I wanna go watch ‘Saving Private Ryan’ again. Was that Ned carrying his blown off hand?” writes Royalssuck. –Frank Houston
