The word “retard”: America just doesn’t know what to do with it. True, we should probably retire it for good from our vocabulary, but lets be honest: Many of us normal, untelevised folk still use it pretty regularly. And the Black Eyed Peas had a hit song with “retarded” in the title, for chrissakes — not that they’re exactly to be emulated.
Anyways, LeBron James never did grasp the whole self-censorship concept as well as, say, his teammate to his right in the video below. After Saturday night’s loss to the Boston Celtics, a reporter asked Dwyane Wade a, well, befuddling question about certain unnamed people (her) accusing him of dirty tactics in a play that left Boston’s Rajon Rondo injured.
That’s when LeBron muttered under his breath: “That’s retarded.” Comparisons are already being made to Kobe Bryant’s recent use of the word “faggot” in a tirade against a referee, and you gotta think LeBron should probably be hit with the same $100,000 fine for fairness’ sake.
What do you think? Did LeBron go full retard on this one?
