$7,500

If you’re working with a meager budget, your summer plans probably don’t include a trip to Italy. And as much as you’d love to pedal through the streets of Tuscany, ride a gondola through Venice, and eat your weight in pasta in Rome, you’ll probably have to settle for a staycation instead.
Luckily, you can say ciao to all things Italian without heading halfway around the world at this weekend’s Spring Pedals bike tour. The Little Italy adventure will make stops at Coral Gables’ local Italian village, the Coral Gables Waterway, and the picturesque Venetian Pool — all before returning to the city’s namesake museum to check out its Italian exhibits: the Vespa-focused “Italy in Motion” and the architectural sketchings of “When in Rome.”
This is probably as close as you’ll get to the rolling hills of Florence. So practice your best Italian accent, paint your lips crimson like Sofia Loren’s, and maybe you’ll meet a bell’uomo or two a little closer to home. Buon viaggio!
