A Chromeo DJ set, Crookers, MSTRKRFT, and now Switch? Whoever is responsible for the string of bookings at Heathrow Lounge deserves a gold star, because it’s getting ridiculous. Switch, born Dave Taylor, is the U.K.-based whiz responsible for producing dance-floor staples for artists such as M.I.A. (“Boyz,” “Jimmy,” and “20 Dollar”) and Santogold (“You’ll Find A Way” and “Creator”). He’s also remixed tracks for Nine Inch Nails, Kelis, Basement Jaxx, P. Diddy, The Chemical Brothers, Lily Allen — get the drift?

But Switch is no slouch with his own original tracks too — they’re hard-hitting, aerobicized electro-house tracks dripping with goosebump-inducing, trippy synth runs. Hear a track like “This Is Sick,” and you’ll either miss psychedelics, or consume some. As a DJ, Switch mixes up genres, but not, perhaps, as much as his frequent production partner, Diplo — in his sets, the four-four beat is definitely the thing. For a taste, check out his latest Fabriclive mix, co-produced with pal Sinden.

Last time Switch spun in Miami, it was for his Dubsided label party during the Winter Music Conference at the now-defunct Studio A alongside Jesse Rose, Annie Mac, Drop the Lime, and Sinden. While the party was an all-out riot music-wise, it was poorly attended, but Miami’s had enough time since then to catch up.
