Coral Springs native and hip-hop producer Jim Jonsin is suing Lil Wayne’s Miami rap collective for $500,000 in allegedly unpaid royalties for the smash hit “Lollipop”. According to the suit, filed this week in New York federal court, Young Money Entertainment “failed to provide any accountings or payments whatsoever” to Jonsin– real name James Scheffer– for ringtone and download sales of the song.
The One Known as Weezy is currently serving a one-year Rikers Island prison sentence on gun charges. Below, check out some New Times footage of Jonsin in the studio:
