With all the new pizzerias opening, it looked like Miami would become the new Manhattan, where every street corner sells hot and savory pies in one form or another.

Which is why it’s surprising to learn that the Lincoln Road pizzeria Sosta Enoteca & Pizzeria quietly closed Sunday, April 21.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.

South Street Closes

Sosta opened in May 2009 as a casual dining alternative to big sister Quattro Gastronomia Italiana. The shop served pizzas cooked in an authentic Italian rotating brick oven. Keeping it simple, Sosta also offered antipasti, desserts, wine, and beer.

The restaurant’s parent company, KNR Restaurant Group, simply stated, “After close to four years of operation, KNR Restaurant Group has sold Sosta Enoteca & Pizzeria on Lincoln Road. According to ownership, the lease on the space was coming due, and the decision was made to sell and move forward in developing other exciting concepts.”

Quattro, it should be noted, remains one of Lincoln Road’s busiest eateries, with brothers/chefs Nicola and Fabrizio Carro continuing to turn out upscale Piemonte-inspired dishes.
