Poppy Champlin’s restless, roving comedic mind was forged in the pressure cooker of Second City, and it gracefully alights on any subject on any night. But on the Queer Queens of Qomedy Tour, it probably sticks close to the night’s binding theme: lesbianism, and the terrors and triumphs thereof. Codependency, bed death, a song about stalking set to the tune of “Fever” and titled “Beaver” — you get the idea.
This is all very good, because lesbians seldom have entertainment made just for them that doesn’t involve a preponderance of ghastly acoustic guitars. Champlin is joined by Barb Neligan, who combines wide-eyedness and world-weariness to generally hilarious effect, and Vickie Nance, who is funny and sings.
