Across the street from Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, this long running local’s bar is a late night institution for dancing, drinks, and ladies. On Monday nights, if you want reggae, dis be de place. Jean Pokito is the bandleader for JP Jams, a world beat rockin’ band playing “deep roots” music. Jean P. has toured Europe, Asia, and the USA playing with other top bands, and his own group is busy all over tri-county playing private parties, corporate functions, and special events. His Monday residency at Purdy is where he gets into sets of jams that keep the drinks pouring and the people dancing until five o’clock in the morning.
