Even though a million rappers are repping the robo-voice these days, T-Pain is still the reigning king of Auto-Tune. He specializes in futuristic slow jams such as “N Luv (Wit a Stripper),” “Buy You a Drank,” and “Chopped ‘n’ Skrewed” that sound like they were made by a really romantic robot with a gut full of sexy skeeze. As a matter of fact, dude never sings without vocoding his voice. It almost makes you think if you pulled really hard on those thick-ass dreads, his face would come off like a mask to reveal the skull of a red-eyed automaton.
In any case, T-Pain brings the bangers. And this Sunday at 11 p.m., he’ll drop a DJ set at LIV as part of Imagine Sundays. Be there when the robots start slanging drank and bucking like the human race just went extinct.
