As I have already mentioned, the Broward-Palm Beach wing of New Times will be performing Simon Cowell-esque duties this Saturday at America’s Backyard (200 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) during a rigorous Battle of the Bands. Even if some people aren’t *head snap* likin’ it.
When all is said and done, the South Florida act with the most stage presence, the most raw energy, and the most eyeliner (ha!) will get to perform in front of the masses at the New
Times’ 13th annual Beerfest, April 17. Go get your entries in now!
The rest of the important info follows after the jump.
When news happens, Miami New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
To enter: post a video, MP3, a link to your MySpace, or something that
lets us know that you’re for real at myspace.com/NewTimes and include
the phrase “(Your Band’s Name) Rocks the Yard” by Tuesday, March 23. If you’re that wildly lazy, just drop your band’s info in the comments for this posting.
I
will help the judges narrow it down to the best five entrants, who will
each get to rock two songs in front of us during our Battle of the
Bands on March 27. The Battle champion goes on to open up Beerfest
on April 17.
