Recall those ridiculously talented kids from Fame? Well, Miami’s own version (sans the movie set) is headed our way. This week 150 über-gifted teens from across the nation will converge on South Florida for YoungARTS Week, an annual program funded by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA).

These bright youngsters will be participating in exhibits, master classes, readings, and workshops to facilitate and further their artistic development. Every discipline is given a chance to shine, including cinema, dance, music, jazz, photography, visual arts, voice, theater, and writing. Participants will also be given an opportunity to perform in front of renowned artists and arts educators throughout the week. Tonight at 8, the theater finalists will showcase their spoken and musical works at the Ransom Everglades Upper School Auditorium. The performance is gratis.
