Have you felt the urge to break into verse this month? Have you participated in any creative pursuits or stumbled upon any lyricisms? April is the time to do it, you know, and not only because it’s National Poetry Month.
For the third year running, ’tis the season of O, Miami, the month-long celebration of poetry, community, drink, fun, and clever silliness that aims to bring the world of poetry to your doorstep. The Knight founded festival, spearheaded by P. Scott Cunningham and a handful of dedicated accomplices, is not like any other festival you’ve attended.
“Instead of gathering people in one specific place for a few days,” Cunningham says, “we decided to invert that model and do a festival that takes place all over the county and no one can go to all of it.”

All this because they “wanted to change the audience for poetry.” No specific meeting place and time means the fun and games come to you, wherever you may be.
