Tom Tancredo might think Miami is a Third-World country, but Arts at St. John’s isn’t afraid to celebrate and belt out what’s great about South Florida. This weekend the organization will serve up another performance supporting its mission to embrace diversity among not only people but also art forms. Around the World in 80 Minutes will feature a cast of eight singers paying tribute to different cultures and ethnicities.

David Kingery, artistic director and vocal coach for the organization, hearkens to Broadway for this journey, with songs from Miss Saigon, South Pacific, Evita, The Lion King, West Side Story, Hairspray, and other musicals. One special surprise number — just for Miami — will also fill the air and probably tug at a few hardened local heartstrings. The show takes place inside cozy St. John’s on the Lake, a forward-thinking and all-embracing Methodist church tucked away in quiet Mid Beach. Talk about good vibes!
