The Place: Moonchine Asian Bistro
7100 Biscayne Blvd., Miami
The Hours: Daily, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The Deals: All rolls are half-price and individual sushi is $1. Get their signature Moonchine shot and sake shots for $3. Guests can also order $5 Stoli cocktails, $7 Stoli martinis, and $3.50 Chang beer at anytime.
The Scene: This spot is the gem of the Mimo District, offering three different spaces for guests to enjoy. There is an outdoor garden area that charms with hanging lights, white linen drapes, and thatch walls. In the main restaurant and bar, guests are immersed in a red-orange glow while sitting in the mid-century styled dining area or at the sterling silver bar. The newly opened music lounge, 71, keeps the funkiness going with large, red lanterns and quirky wall art. Moonchine is hip but laid back and so is its crowd.
The Conclusion: Moonchine really comes alive in the evening hours and is ideal “first spot” of the night. The strategy: Arrive around 6 p.m., have a few rolls, and then head to the music lounge to warm up the dancing shoes.
