It’s been a long week. And if you just don’t have it in you tonight to Uber over to LIV, we’ve got a significantly more laid-back (and free) option. This week, the monthly series Jazz at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami presents Lanzallamas Monofonica, a Miami-based ensemble known for mixing its high-energy, Afro-Latino rhythms with salsa, cumbia, Caribbean, and electronic beats.

The museum hosts these free outdoor concerts on the last Friday of every month at 8 p.m. And if you’ve never been, now is a good time to start. Lanzallamas Monofonica has shared the stage with world music personalities like Salif Keita, Novalima, Cultura Profética, and Sidestepper.

Besides the performance, the galleries at MOCA will be open to the public by suggested donation from 7 to 10 p.m. This is a great chance to check out the “Intersectionality” exhibition, featuring the work of approximately 50 South Florida artists. The exhibition, curated by Richard Haden, explores the interconnection of oppressive institutions and behaviors, addressing problems of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia along the way.

Jazz at Moca with Lanzallamas Monofonica. 8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 770 NE 125th St., North Miami; 305-893-6211; mocanomi.org. Admission is free.
