Demetrius Jackson hasn’t actually played in a single high school football game yet, but next year he’ll be playing for the Miami Hurricanes. Jackson officially committed to the school today.
The 6’4, 230 pound Booker T. Washington defensive lineman used to play basketball exclusively, but joined the football team for spring practice. His performance was so impressive he gained the interest of numerous colleges. That’s what happens when you can do the 40 in 4.6 seconds.
Arkansas, Louisville, and FIU also offered Jackson scholarships, and at one point Jackson had committed to the Razorbacks. However the school turned him down because he had yet to actually visit campus. But, it doesn’t appear Jackson is any less enthusiastic about coming to Coral Gables.
“I grew up a Cane,” Jackson texted The Sun-Sentinel. “UM produces great defensive ends and it’s a great program overall.”
