Roger Mason Jr. was robbed of his Rolex watch at gunpoint at Ni.Do. Caffe in Miami this past Sunday evening while the Miami Heat guard was dining with his sister after his team’s earlier victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

According to the Miami Police Department, four armed men entered the eatery, “pointing pistols at patrons ordering everyone to the ground.”

While one robber walked outside to serve as a lookout, another man removed a “two-toned Rolex watch with diamonds” from an unnamed patron, presumably Mason, while another man demanded to be shown the restaurant’s safe. When he was told there was only the cash register, the robber took the $800 from the register before fleeing. The restaurant’s owner then “followed the offender out the back of his restaurant” and was shot at one time before the suspect ran toward a black Cadillac Escalade that served as the getaway car. No one was hurt during the robbery.

On Monday, police located the Escalade involved in the robbery, and the Tactical Robbery Unit attempted to stop it, which led to a short police chase. The Escalade rammed a police cruiser. At that time, two of the four suspects were arrested, and Mason’s Rolex and his sister’s purse were recovered, along with two small baggies of marijuana.
