I’ve been glued to the tube and to my stadium seat for the last month or so, basking in the Marlins first place run.

But I’m afraid it’s over.

Starting pitching is the problem. And the bullpen to a lesser degree.

Hey Justin Miller blew the save the other day. And only one starter, Scott Olsen, has an ERA under 4. Andrew Miller, despite a couple good outings, is at 5.53. And he’s the friggin future.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?

We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.

$30,000

So enjoy today, Marlins fans, cuz the very hot Phillies — who have won four in a row — will take over first place tonight…and aren’t likely to lose it anytime soon.
