We’ve been alerted to a few upcoming shows at the South Beach mega-club that bring a ting of nostalgia of back when we used to frequent clubs like Studio A, Pawn Shop, and Soho Lounge. First, is everyone’s favorite hipster kingpin Steve Aoki going head-to-head with Afrojack on September 1. The night also features an opening set by AutoErotique. Then Italian electro-house duo Bloody Beetroots takes over the decks on October 13, which is being billed the only exclusive DJ set on their Death Crew 77 North American tour. So while the rest of America and Canada enjoy a live performance, we get a the equivalent of a handjob without the payoff? Color us excited. Tickets are $30 on Wantickets.com.
Finally, the one we are actually excited about is Boys Noize on November 3. We’ve heard him spin numerous times during Winter Music Conference, but at small venues like Louis and White Room. Last time we saw him at a venue that packed enough punch to contain his sound was probably at Studio A in 2007. Yea the follow-up to his superb debut Oi Oi Oi was a disappointment and he’s taken to working with music’s ultimate usurpers, the Black Eyed Peas, but we still have a soft spot for him in our withered electro hearts.
