What does a hobbit do after destroying the One Ring and saving Middle-earth from becoming slaves to the Dark Lord Sauron? Become a DJ, of course.

At least, that’s what Elijah Wood’s been up to since his Frodo days with The Lord of the Rings.

And this Thursday, he’ll be hitting the Magic City for a DJ gig as Wooden Wisdom with Zach Cowie on the carpet stage at Bardot Miami.

Sure, Wood may be known as the adopted, curly-haired, pointy-eared heir to Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic trilogy. But the actor has actually been fighting for his right to break beats since he was a teen.

While starring in the LOTRtrilogy, providing the voice of Mumble in the 2006 Golden Globe-nominated animated film,Happy Feet, and talking to human-like dogs on the FX TV series Wilfred became the focus of his career, Wood has always been passionate about music. In fact, he’s been said to own more than 4,000 vinyl records and CDs. He even has his own label, Simian Records.

It wasn’t until recently, however, that the music junkie decided to give the whole DJ thing a shot. With a mutual love for vinyl, Wood and his DJ partner Cowie formed Wooden Wisdom.

What exactly is Wooden Wisdom, you may ask? Well, according to their Soundcloud page: “Wooden Wisdom is what happens when Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie play records together.”

Sure, that may not answer many of your questions. But with only one official release (“Cosmic Clearance”) under their belt, it’d probably be more informative to simply see their club show.

So go dance with DJ Frodo Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie at their 305 debut and January 2015 Tour kickoff, going down at Miami’s own Bardot this week.

Oh, and don’t forget to dress as Gandalf. Beard and all.
