For some reason, in Miami a restaurant will open and then hold its grand opening about six months or a year later.
Lokal’s Matthew Kusher is taking a more traditional approach to the grand opening party — he’s holding it less than a month after his Coconut Grove restaurant actually opened its doors.
On Thursday, January 19, Lokal’s opening their doors for an old fashioned grand
opening celebration — complete with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Miami
Mayor Tomas Regalado. Florida International University’s head football
coach Mario Cristobal is also scheduled to make an appearance.
The festivities run from 5 to 7 p.m. and feature complimentary beer and wine, live music and passed bites from Lokal’s menu.
