To satisfy your inner Rachael Ray, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has concocted the perfect solution: cupcakes and cooking classes. Just when you thought a caterer would be your only option for presentable holiday food, chef Pam Manresa and pastry chef Bette Ricci come to the rescue. Tonight and next Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00, Chef Manresa will teach you how to properly wield a kitchen knife and skillet so you can enjoy slicing, dicing, and sautéing in her class Cooking Essentials: The Basic Skills. On October 19, Chef Ricci will take cupcakes from sweet to creepy in preparation for Halloween. Be sure to register by October 6 for Cooking Essentials and by October 16 for the Halloween Cupcakes: Bugs and Bats in Your Belfry.
