Just this morning we were wondering when Lamar Odom would make up his mind about joining the Heat or not. Well today he reportedly did, and it wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, but at least the suspence is over.
ESPN.com reports an NBA source told them that Odom will stay put in LA with the Lakers. He’s guaranteed $27 million over three years, and could net $33 million if the Lakers keep him around for a fourth. Odom’s agent confirmed that an agreement was in place when contacted by ESPN.com.
The Heat had been lobbying for Odom’s services. Even star Dwyane Wade made a public plea, but the $34 million they offered him for five years just wasn’t enough for Lamar it seems.
