A Miami lawyer and a Joe Garcia supporter are suing to kick his opponent, Republican David Rivera, off the ballot for congressional district 25.

Lawyers representing Garcia supporter Maria Teresa Pascual and attorney William Barzee gave a press conference on the steps of the Miami-Dade county courthouse at 11 a.m. detailing the lawsuit. Garcia aides were also at the press conference.

The Herald reports the suit aims to disqualify Rivera over questionable financial disclosure forms he filed while working as a state representative. Rivera listed himself as an “international development consultant'” for the U.S. Agency for International Development on the forms, but USAID says it has no record of any contract with Rivera.

CORRECTION: An earlier post misidentified those bringing the suit.
