We here at Crossfade already had some serious munchies for the upcoming Earth concert at Will’s Pub in Orlando.

We’re talking about the band that invented instrumental stoner metal, perfectly merging psychedelic drone experiments and amplifier worship with the bombast of rock ‘n’ roll.

Oh, and there’s also the fact that Earth presently reigns over an eclectic post-rock kingdom of which they are simultaneously the only subjects!

No doubt, this was already a show worthy of a road trip. But factor in Miami’s own instru-metal twin pillars of righteous destruction, Holly Hunt’s Beatriz Monteavaro and Gavin Perry.

In songs like, “A Bureaucratic Desire For Revenge,” you can hear the primordial ingredients that the South Florida duo were largely inspired by.

Holly Hunt further explains that when the show was first announced they bought tickets and then contacted “Orlando Santeria Priest Ryan Pemberton and asked him how many chickens we’d need to sacrifice…”

Apparently, the gods of weed riffs were pleased with whatever offering was agreed upon, as Miami’s heaviest band (ever?) is getting the chance to open for the grand architect of ambient metal.
