It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas — everywhere except South Florida. But who’s complaining? We’ll take mild temperatures over a snowstorm any day. But if there’s one thing that has always made us jealous of northern weather, it’s ice-skating on a frozen pond while the stars twinkle above. We blame Charlie Brown and his damn Christmas special.
But thanks to the InterContinental Miami (100 Chopin Plaza, Miami), the city can finally join in the fun with the Holiday Ice Rink Presented by Coca-Cola. Sure, it’s not exactly a frozen pond, but the full-size rink is located on the hotel’s Bayview patio, so skaters can glide on the ice while gazing at the clear Miami sky and across Biscayne Bay. See? Miami even does ice-skating better — you won’t need to de-ice your car when you’re done.
